Rachael Evans MA, FCMI

So, How did it all start?

I started my career in the Royal Navy, as a photographer but saw a short career due to my in-service injuries.

After over 25 years of experience leading large-scale technology and business transformation across global banks and at Microsoft, I now focus on something a little simpler: making a difference where it matters.

What do I do?

I co-founded ShowMe-TellMe with my business partner, a platform and approach designed to simplify, make more effective, and ground privacy risk management in practical resolution. We believe organisations need better ways to identify what’s going wrong, assess the risk, and resolve it quickly without being overwhelmed by unnecessary jargon. It’s our way of contributing something valuable to a space that too often leaves people overwhelmed or exposed.

My career has taken me from the trading floors of London, to banking operations in Zurich, the boardrooms of Manhattan, innovation hubs in India, and regulatory programmes across the UK and Ireland. Along the way, I’ve delivered major restructuring initiatives, helped navigate change, and quietly supported leaders through moments of absolute pressure. These days, I work as an interim tech leader and coach, often brought in when things are complex, sensitive, or stuck. I like the difficult. Why else would I have chosen to be the first non-Muslim, non-Arabic speaker to complete a research master’s in Islamic financial compliance? I love a challenge, it’s that simple.

Anything Else?

Nowadays, I’m not building an empire; that doesn‘t excite me. I’ve done OK in my career, and it’s now about balance. That means taking on work that interests me, that helps others grow, and that leaves a lasting impact. For example, I coach and mentor across a wide range of industries, including Formula One, national charities, pharmaceutical giants, financial institutions, and strategy firms. What unites them isn’t the sector, it’s the need for clarity, confidence, and a bit of calm.

I’m also an intersex advocate, a national volunteer in the uniformed cadet force, and a lecturer at several institutions including the Royal College of Surgeons. These secondary roles keep me grounded as they remind me that leadership isn’t just about what you build, it’s also about what you give back to others.
